Time Talks Back: The Energy of the Past, Future, and Now

By Leila Briggs

Years ago, when I first started working with the Grid, I had no idea I’d end up face-to-face with the illusion of time. I wasn’t prepared for how alive and weirdly personal it would feel. On the Grid, time doesn’t behave. It doesn’t move neatly forward as it does in our physical paradigm.

And if you hang around long enough, you start to realize: Time has its own personality. It speaks. It pushes. It pulls. It hums underneath everything.

The Energy of the Past Has a Pushy Kind of Love

I’ll admit it, I’m way more comfortable with the energy of the past. There’s something slow and graceful about it. The energy pushes (most times gently) through memories, dreams, conversations, and patterns.

It’s not always loud. But it is persistent.

Like a chair dragging across a tile floor during your quiet time. Rude, but effective.

When the past needs rescripting - when something must shift to open a new future - it pushes harder. You might see repeating symbols in your dreams. The same old issues showing up in your relationships. Familiar emotions circling back like, “Hey. Still here. Wanna deal with me this time?”

There’s a kind of monotonous grace to the way the past moves through and on the Grid. A rhythm. A patience. A reminder that it doesn’t have to play the same way AGAIN. And always, always, an invitation to heal.

The Energy of the Future Has No Chill

Now the energy of the future…? The future is a whole other ride!

The future doesn’t nudge. It yanks. It pulls. It grabs you by the collar and says, “Let’s go. Now!”

Chaotic, exhilarating, and slightly unhinged - future work is the cosmic equivalent of ‘Supermarket Sweep.’ People running full speed through the store, just throwing stuff into their cart without even looking. That’s how future work has always felt to me.

It’s fast. It’s loud. It’s full of possibilities.

Just when you catch your breath, it’s already on to the next thing. The energy is a marathon through what could be (and what will be if change is not made or possible) - and depending on what you’re working on or healing, some of those thousands and millions of possibilities might be part of the run.

But here’s the thing: If you can stay open and not grip too hard? Future work moves fast but flows smooth. It can actually be easier than past work - but that’s only if you’re willing to surrender to the chaos.

The Now Gets Pulled and Pushed at the Same Time

This is the part that blew my mind: The energy of the present moment is the alchemy of both.

It gets pushed by the past, pulled by the future. And in that collision, you exist. It’s no wonder being present is such an art.

You’re literally holding space for two distinct energies trying to run in different directions, and still somehow showing up grounded, aware, and kind. That’s magic. That’s mastery.

That’s Grid-level athleticism. Spiritual CrossFit, folks! But instead of burpees, you’re balancing timelines.

And it makes me wonder - maybe that’s why the present moment feels so sacred. Because it’s not just "now." It’s the alchemy of what was and what could be, breathing together and humming with transformative possibility in real time.

So, Why Have a Conflab About This?

If you’re walking a soul path, doing healing work, or feeling drawn to the Grid, you’re gonna meet Time. Not just clocks and calendars. But the living, breathing energy of it. You’ll learn how it talks. How it shows up in your body. How it changes when the past is healed - or when the future needs attention.

And the more you notice it…The more you realize you’re not just living through time. You’re in a relationship with it.

Soul work and the spiritual journeying is so dynamic. There are layers upon layers of growth and wisdom waiting to be unearthed. Even in something as simple or as complex (depending on your perception) as the energy of time. Let it teach you something! Let it show you something!

This was a perfect decription of the energies of time. Kudos!

It explains why it is so difficult to hold space in the now. It is a muscle that you build over time. Likewise, your explanation also explains why the more 'time' you spend in the 'now' ----you lose track of calendar time. It is no joke when Leila and I both ask simultaneously, "Did that happen this week or couple weeks ago?" We just don't know sometimes.... and we are not crazy because we both remember what happened! haha. Ding Dong Darling- back to you.

"Conflab" is a dedicated to my mom - Haha! We love to watch makeup and fashion shows together. On one of the shows, the judges always have a "conflab." Ding Dong Darling! 💜

Just want to add... depending on your position and direction of work - it can feel different. What is listed in the blog is the most common traits of time. But time can definitely switch things up. The future can push, while the past pulls. The future can also have the sensation of pulling upwards and stretching your energetic system out (you feel elongated and tall), while the past can push downwards and make your energetic system feel compact (you feel short). These sensations can be paired…
