Celebration

By Leila Briggs

Maybe I am feeling the Olympic spirit or maybe it’s because the birthday vibes has a hold of me…or maybe it’s the view that our community is hard at work? Whatever the case is, I am feeling drawn to focus this week’s blog on the importance of celebration.

Remember to celebrate, please!

We tend to celebrate major milestones in life like birthdays, graduations, and weddings. It’s a time where one can honor themselves or another and maybe even embrace a more carefree attitude. It’s a moment where one can feel emotions like gratitude, happiness, and joy.

For some, these milestone celebrations are the only time they can honor themselves or another. The only moment they can feel lighter emotions. Life is complex. Our day can be full of tasks to ensure loved ones are safe and our personal needs are being met. When you add a healing journey or spiritual awakening to that already full schedule, life gets even more hectic!

Let’s be honest - healing and spiritual growth are hard work! It takes dedication, devotion to self, and service to others. The healing spiritual life can be just as exhausting as one’s muggle life! Within the exhaustion, it is easy to forget the fun and adventure. It’s even more easy to forget celebration of your healing and spiritual milestones.

Let this be your friendly reminder, CELEBRATE!

What did you achieve recently, that is new or important for you? This can be a personal and internal achievement. It can be something within your spiritual community or within your external relationships. If you are unsure, ask your family and community to help you see your achievements and growth.

Then find a way to honor these achievements and growth! Maybe this celebration is a small gathering of friends or a favored meal. Maybe it’s a splurge on a new hobby or a day trip. Maybe it’s a quiet walk in nature by yourself, with a quiet mind.

You get to decide what the celebration looks like. My only request is, however you choose to celebrate, please make sure you take moments to honor yourself and feel joy towards your achievements.

I am proud of you! I love you!

And thank you for being such a beautiful part of our community.
